Cadence

A month you can feel.

Bookkeeping works when it has a pulse. Here is the rhythm: what arrives from you, what we do with it, and what returns to your desk.

Planning cards arranged in a grid on linen next to a ceramic cup, suggesting a calm working rhythm.
Plate 04The month laid out

Four beats. One pulse. The books move with the calendar — not against it.

Step 01 — Intake

You send the month

Bank and card exports (or connections), receipts worth keeping, payroll summaries, new loans or leases, and a short note on anything unusual — a big deposit, a dispute, a refund that looks wrong.

Step 02 — Work

We keep the ledger

Transactions categorized, accounts reconciled, AP/AR updated, oddities flagged. If something needs your eyes — a missing receipt, an unclear transfer — we ask once, clearly, instead of guessing.

Step 03 — Close

The month lands

Reconciliations finished. Owner reports prepared for internal use. Open questions listed, not hidden in a footnote. You get a package you can open without decoding.

Step 04 — Carry forward

Next month starts clean

Balances roll forward. Recurring items stay mapped. Catch-up debt shrinks instead of compounding. The cadence repeats — quieter each time the inputs arrive on time.

What you send

  • Bank & card activity (export or feed)
  • Receipts and bills that need a home
  • Payroll or contractor summaries
  • Notes on one-off events
  • Access to QuickBooks or Xero, if we work in-file

What you get back

  • Reconciled books
  • Unaudited owner reports for internal use
  • Cash-flow snapshot when useful
  • A short list of open items
  • AP/AR aging you can act on
